Whole Earth? UWE, Bristol’s Response to the SU President’s Challenge

In October 2015, UWE opened the Whole Earth? exhibition on its Frenchay Campus. In response to this powerful call to action the President of the Students’ Union challenged the Vice Chancellor to publically demonstrate how the university was responding to the University Challenges presented in the exhibition. This is the university’s response to that challenge which has been developed through a series of conversations with staff and students facilitated by the Students’ Union and the Knowledge Exchange for Sustainability Education group. The response focuses upon the undergraduate provision of the university although it is recognisedthat the postgraduate taught provision and the research activities of the university make substantial contributions to meeting the University Challenges of the Whole Earth? exhibition.
