Sometimes the concept of climate change is difficult to reconcile with real life events. It can be hard to imagine the impact that severe weather events and long term climate impacts have on day to day life.
The University of Cambridge had a recent flooding event and published the list of services affected. The list is not exhaustive but it does cover a huge range of impacts from just one morning's worth of heavy rainfall in an area that was not designed to withstand conditions of that nature.
This example illustrates the real life issues that will become more common as climate change accelerates.
