University of Tampere, Finland, is committed to educate people who understand the world and change it. A multidisciplinary sustainable development study module was opened to all students in 2013. At the same time the university got funding from Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation to promote global health education and research. A Program for Global Health and Development was founded in the University.
In the Program there is a strong commitment to also promote sustainable development and create courses offered to all university students especially from the global point of view. In the beginning of this Academic year, the United Nations Sustainability Goals were decided as the appropriate frame for the Global Health Studies at the University of Tampere.
