The University of Sheffield - My Sustainable Print

My Sustainable Print is the new staff print service at The University of Sheffield. It is delivered through a network of energy efficient multi-functional print devices.

It has replaced a highly disparate fleet of 3000 printers costing £2.5m per year to run and emitting 24 tonnes of carbon per year.

Since the installation of MSP annual running costs of staff printing have fallen to £1.5m and will continue to fall to £1m as we complete the removal of old staff printers. Annual carbon emissions are down to under 10 tonnes and will continue to fall to 5 tonnes as we complete the removal of old staff printers.

MSP is supported by an on-site team of 1 fleet manager and 2 engineers. This has delivered a significant time saving for departmental technical staff. It also means that orders/deliveries of consumables are coordinated centrally thus reducing the financial and environmental costs of deliveries.
