The Green Deal, a provision in The Energy Act 2011, is an innovative financial mechanism that eliminates the need for paying upfront for energy efficiency improvements to homes, community spaces and businesses. Instead it allows consumers to pay back for such improvements through savings in energy bills. Such improvements to currently energy inefficient buildings would reduce their carbon emissions while lowering their energy costs.
