A biodiversity project is an excellent opportunity to form partnerships within your institution and beyond. Involving staff and students will give them a sense of ownership and interest. It generates a ‘feel good’ factor, which can help to stimulate more interest in a range of environmental issues. Projects can bring together staff and student groups to create a stronger feeling of belonging, community and commitment to your institution.
You will also be demonstrating that your institution is actively investing in local environmental improvement. This can enhance relations with local residents and promote community involvement. Opportunities are provided to form good working relationships with local community and wildlife groups.
