Sustainability Ambition in Education Week
1st December 2020
It’s coming to the end of a tumultuous year and never has it never been clearer that we need to address the global challenges the world faces, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, justice and of course, health and well-being.
So at the end of 2020 – it is a good time to reflect, look at our achievements in the face of adversity this year, and make pledges for next year. 2021 is absolutely crucial, in the run up to COP26 we have a once in a lifetime chance to truly build back better, and set precedents and legislation that will guarantee a more just world for the generations to come.
On Saturday, 12
th December, it is
the Climate Ambition Summit. The United Nations, United Kingdom, and France, in partnership with Chile and Italy, will co-host this virtual summit to mark the fifth anniversary of the adoption of the Paris Agreement. The event will provide a platform for government and non-governmental leaders to demonstrate their commitment to the Paris Agreement and the multilateral process.
To celebrate, EAUC will be releasing a number of resources and case studies between 7
th December – 11
th December, in what we are calling ‘

This will consist of some insight from the sector itself, looking at what staff in education are proud of when it comes to sustainability in their institution this year, and what ambition they hope to see next year.
