Salix Energy Efficiency Loans Scheme - applications open
3rd October 2012
The Scheme allows public sector bodies, including Further and Higher Education Institutions, to apply for an interest free loan to finance up to 100% of the costs of energy efficiency projects. Any project put forward is required to meet the Salix Eligibility criteria which are set out in our online application and background notes.
The loan application process is simple, quick and occurs in two stages:
• The application, project assessment and commitment to fund from Salix
• The completion of the project with set up of the loan and payment of the money (unless Salix agree to fund on an interim payment basis).
Salix are seeking applications for the current round of funding as well as ongoing applications for future funding opportunities. Projects should be completed within a 9 month timeframe after the commitment to fund from Salix. Where projects have to be tendered after the agreement to fund, allowance will be made for this.
This initial tranche of loans will be paid back to Salix by direct debit on a 6 monthly basis over a period of 4 years.
Footnote:
Over 700 clients across the public sector have already used Salix capital finance funding to help them to meet the challenge of driving down their annual energy costs and carbon emissions. Salix has delivered almost 10,000 projects and created savings for the public sector of £64m per annum in energy costs and £839m of savings over the projects’ lifetime. The clients we have helped range from Further and Higher Education institutions, schools, local authorities, NHS and Emergency Services.
