Pedal Power: Could you cycle 300 miles for charity?
16th February 2016
Fancy the challenge of cycling 300 miles in four days for charity? If so, The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) invites you to join its members and directors in July 2016, as they take to the highway from Manchester to Exeter in the name of raising thousands of pounds for good causes.
Members of TUCO – including some of its Directors - are already ‘gearing up’ to tackle the mammoth ride which will start at its Central Manchester headquarters, and end at the University of Exeter, in time for its prestigious annual Conference, which opens on 26th July 2016.
With four days on the road, members will have to cover an estimated 75 miles a day to ensure they make it on time for the start of the Conference – no mean feat. Julie Barker, Chair of TUCO comments:
“Some serious training is going to be needed for some of us but it’s an incredible challenge that will not only push us to our physical limits but enable us to make a difference to people’s lives and that is a powerful reason for doing it.”
“There will probably be a lot of sweat and tears, but what better way to arrive at the 2016 Conference…as long as we all make it in one piece!”
TUCO is inviting members, suppliers and Industry professionals to get behind the initiative and help the organisation raise money for worthy causes which benefits thousands of people across the Hospitality Sector.
Charities are yet to be confirmed but if you would like to take part, please contact Mike Haslin via
