Name Change Update
3rd October 2018
Here is an update following the AGM. As you may be aware we went to the AGM asking for members to vote on a name change. In order for this to be successful we required, by Company Law, to achieve 75% of those voting. The result was 72% so this was not passed.
The Board needed time to reflect on this and to discuss in-depth. We did this at the Board meeting last week, along with invited Member guests from London School of Economics and Politics, University of Warwick, Loughborough University, University of Exeter and South Devon College.
At this meeting we agreed that we will not be seeking a further name change at this point. As this is an action that is in our strategy we will review this position again towards the end of our strategy period which ends in 2021.
However, we are excited to be letting you know that we will be slightly changing the look and feel of our logo and website. This will be coming out later this month. We hope that you will like these changes and that the new website will make it easier to access the key member benefits that serve you.
The Board wishes to thank the invited guests for their input into the recent Board meeting as well as all the members that engaged with the AGM and voting process.
We look forward to focussing on delivering the strategy to bring greater benefits to members and working together with you in making sustainability just good business.
Kind regards
Janet Haddock-Fraser, Chair
