Launch of guidance for higher education providers on education for sustainable development
18th August 2014
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and the University of the West of England (UWE) invite you to attend a one-day event to mark the formal launch of new guidance, Education for sustainable development: Guidance for UK higher education providers.
Date: 17 October 2014 11:00 - 16:00
Location: Severn Room, Exhibition and Conference Centre, Frenchay Campus, University of the West of England, Bristol, BS34 8QZ
The new guidance was developed by QAA working in partnership with the HEA, with the help of an expert advisory group chaired by Professor James Longhurst of UWE. The guidance was published in June 2014 - this event provides an opportunity to hear from representatives of the key organisations involved in its development. Speakers will introduce the guidance and outline the work that each organisation does to support higher education providers in this area.
The full programme will also feature a presentation from the Higher Education Funding Council for England on the forthcoming sustainable development framework for higher education, which was subject to consultation earlier this year.
In addition to invited speaker sessions, the day will also feature an opportunity for delegatesto discuss how they will implement the new guidance within the context of their own institutions, with input from members of the expert advisory group that helped to develop it.
This event will be of interest to programme leaders, teaching staff, institutional managers with responsibility for academic quality, sustainability leaders, and students and their representatives. The full programme and joining instructions will be available in due course following initial registration.
There is no charge to attend this event. Register online to attend the event by Friday 10 October 2014.
