Groundwork Youth recruiting young green leaders across the UK - applications open!

Do you know a young person with an interest in environmental issues or looking to develop their leadership skills? Are you part of a local community group looking to increase your membership but need help recruiting local young people?  Groundwork Youth is here to help!

Groundwork Youth is a Groundwork UK initiative empowering young people and community groups to work together to tackle the issues affecting the places where they live. To achieve this Groundwork is recruiting a Youth Network to drive forward a national campaign that will support more young people to have a say on youth and green space issues in their area.

Groundwork Youth is launching nationally on 13th June, recruiting 100 Young Green Ambassadors and 12 Youth Advisory Board members to their Youth Network.

Young Green Ambassadors are 16-24 year olds, with a passion for their local area, an interest in environmental issues, and willingness to develop their skills as an advocate for local young people. 

Ambassadors will receive training and support from Groundwork Youth and will work closely with our Trusts and local community groups, supporting online and offline campaigns and events, and developing local projects – applications close on 5th July.

Youth Advisory Board members are 16-24 year olds, with a passion for youth and environmental issues, ready to contribute to their skills and develop the leadership potential.

Advisory Board Members will attend meetings to steer the programme, help to plan and drive forward our national campaign, and represent Groundwork Youth nationally, receiving training and mentoring from the Groundwork Youth – applications close on 5th July.

Groundwork is encouraging nominations from various youth organisations. As Young Ambassadors will be provided with the training and support to work with community organisations in their area, please encourage 16-24s you know to get involved.
