Go Green Week 2012
7th February 2012
This week is
Go Green Week 2012, People & Planet’s annual national week of action. Up and down the country, EAUC Members are hosting a wide range of activities to promote the campaign. Go Green Week was highlighted in our annual survey as an event that you regularly support, and so in 2012, EAUC staff will be doing their bit to back the campaign.
As part of Go Green Week, the EAUC is encouraging its staff to take part in the themes set out for each day. Whether they are at work or at home, wherever they are in the UK, EAUC staff will be doing their bit to make Go Green Week as success and to promote it to family and friends.
Meat-free Monday: Whilst at work, staff will go veggie on all consumed during the day. Yum!
Travel light Tuesday: Staff will get into work using the most sustainable mode of transport they can use, this includes car-sharing and using public transport.
Waste-not Wednesday: Staff will not produce any waste on Wednesday. The office printer will be switched off and everything the EAUC team consumes will have to be recycled.
Switch off Thursday: All staff will refrain from printing/scanning/photocopying anything, unless we absolutely must have to. The printer will be switched off in both Cheltenham and Scotland offices!
Fair trade Friday: To get us all ready for Fairtrade Fortnight next month, everything consumed will be fairly traded, local, seasonal or organic.
So, what are you doing for Go Green Week 2012? Maybe you are making a film, holding a bike ride or selling cakes on a stall to raise funds. Whatever events you are arranging or taking part in, let us know – we’d love to hear from you!
