Essentials of Leading for Sustainability event
26th March 2013
Central London on Tuesday 23 April 2013
This event is aimed at people leading at departmental and institutional levels who do not have a sustainability or carbon-reduction background but who want sustainability to play its part in their wider leadership role. This may include building sustainability into consideration of core activities such as learning, teaching and the student experience, research, HR, estates management and corporate planning
As part of the implementation of its new Strategic Framework which identifies leadership for sustainability as a priority focus, the EAUC is working with the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education and is delighted to support this event. We encourage our members to pass on this information to colleagues who may be interested.
Delegates will hear the stories of successful leaders of sustainability, including Jane Davidson, formerly Minister for Environment and Sustainability in Wales and now director of INSPIRE at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David - and explore for themselves how sustainability connects with values, what future we want to see and what kind of leadership we need to exercise towards this future.
Who should apply? Subject leaders, heads of professional and academic departments, and those with a cross-institutional remit who want sustainability to play its part in their wider leadership role. This event will focus on the opportunities for embedding sustainability principles into learning and teaching, research and professional services and is designed specifically for people leading at departmental and institutional levels who do not have a sustainability or carbon-reduction background.
