2nd August 2016
The beautiful Selwyn College in Cambridge was the venue for the inaugural EAUC Driving Sustainability Leadership Lab, which took place on 20-22 July 2016.
Run as a two day, two night residential, the Lab brought together 21 sustainability leaders from across the UK Tertiary Education sector, along with representatives from industry, to develop skills and models to implement whole institutional approaches to sustainability. The Lab was led by Leith Sharp (Director, Executive Education for Sustainability Leadership and Lead Faculty Centre for Health and the Global Environment, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health), who shared innovative leadership models while encouraging attendees to translate these to their own experiences within their institutions.
It was incredibly valuable having such a broad range of experience in the room and attendees leaned a great deal from the sharing of ideas and lessons learned in individual careers. We look forward to the attendees of this first Lab continuing to share and develop together as alumni of the EAUC Driving Sustainability Leadership Programme.
Thank you to all those who attended for making this Lab such a success. Thanks also to Interface both for their support of this exciting programme and for their input into the agenda, and to the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education for their input.
We will share more information about the outcomes of the event, including plans for future Labs, soon.
