Building on two previous reports (Addressing Marine Plastics: A Systemic Approach – Stocktaking Report and Mapping of Global Plastics Value Chain and Plastics Losses to the Environment: With a Particular Focus on Marine Environment) developed under the GEF project ‘Addressing Marine Plastics - A Systemic Approach’, the latest report ‘Addressing Marine Plastics: A Systemic Approach – Recommendations for Actions’ identifies gaps to address marine plastics at each value chain stage, and recommends actions to be taken by different stakeholders to achieve a circular economy for plastics at the global level. The report also recommends actions in priority sectors where plastic leakage is substantial and impacts on the environment are high.
