Durham University’s Procurement Service and Catering Department have worked in unison to provide a range of services to its 10 fully catered colleges and other catering outlets. The session will give an insight into how the University has maximised its buying power whilst taking into account environmental, social and economic values and responsibilities. The aim of the session is to help and encourage other organisations to heavily consider their supply chains in relation to food and embedded sustainability within food procurement and production. Durham University are Green Gown winners from 2010 and 2011 in the sustainable procurement category.
