Global market leader of sustainable flooring solutions, Interface, has helped the School of Management at Bradford University gain a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating (design stage) for its School of Management new build project. As one of Europe’s leading business schools, the project architects were looking to create a cutting-edge learning facility and worked with contractors, Quarmby, to combine the best of the campus’s historic architecture with a state-of-the art new building.
The work at Bradford University comprised the construction of a new three-storey teaching block and a glazed atrium area between Grade 2 listed buildings within a conservation area. The project included a high-tech teaching facility based on the Harvard Business School, and the striking atrium space linked the new building with the original Victorian architecture, providing a focal point for the campus and space for teaching, learning and networking.
