The unspoken challenge of university in the age of climate change: students diligently prepare for careers while scientists sound the alarm that business as usual is untenable. How can we expect students to become the transformational leaders we need if they are left alone to grapple with the existential threat of climate change?
Students and faculty at Oregon State University confronted the emotional uncertainty of climate change in weekly support groups. Delegates will have an opportunity to participate in authentic dialogue about the emotional burdens of the climate crisis and discuss best practices for creating support groups at their institutions.
