FHE institutions often renew large numbers of chairs, tables, desks and other furniture at one time.

Many items can be renovated or reused if in a suitable condition. Set up an asset register to facilitate reuse of furniture in-house and advertise internally.
Local outlets are often available e.g. charity shops and community groups.
It may be possible to negotiate contracts so that the supplier of new furniture takes away some of the old.
