8th Nov – 8th Oct 2017 09:30 – 16:00
Suitable for – SU Staff, officers or students with an interest in sustainability. Some unions are sending their environmental committee.
The votes have been counted and we can now announce the workshops you chose to fill the People’s Choice slots at the Summit are- tackling coffee cups on campus and refugees and climate change
Our keynote speaker is inspirational University of Cambridge student, Esha Marwaha. Whilst still in secondary school, Esha ran a successful campaign against The Department of Education, who were threatening to remove climate change from the curriculum for under 14s. Through gathering support from over 31,000 people, victory was won and the government dropped their plans!
The Summit will equip you to put sustainability at the heart of your students’ union’s core purpose over the year ahead. Join us for a day of talks, workshops and networking. Gain practical skills in sustainability campaigning and connect with other officers and activists to take action on issues like divestment, renewables, food waste, climate justice and so much more. The full agenda is attached.
