John Robinson, Professor at the University of Toronto and former Associate Provost of Sustainability at The University of British Columbia, has an international reputation in the areas of urban sustainability, citizen engagement, education for sustainable development and developing the campus as a Living Lab.
This webinar explores Professor Robinson’s Living Lab ventures at the Copenhagen Business School (as adjunct professor) and the University of Toronto. It explores the early stages of a Living Lab in a Higher Education institution, as exemplified by Professor Robinson’s latest challenges and experiences.

Speakers:
John Robinson, Professor, University of Toronto, Adjunct Professor, Copenhagen Business School - Prof. Robinson is an educator and environmental scientist with contributions in leading researches on climate policy, community engagement, education for sustainable development, and many other areas. He served as a Lead Author in the Second (1992-5), Third (1998-2000) and Fourth (2004-7) Assessment Reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
At his long-term appointment at the University of British Columbia, he was instrumental in the establishment and served as the Director of the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS), the most sustainable building in North America and a centre for unique research that draws on partnerships between the public, private and NGO sectors. He was essential in the development of UBC’s world-leading Living Lab and community engagement platform.
Hassan Waheed, Researcher, EAUC - Hassan is responsible for the EAUC’s Living Labs and Sustainability Mapping projects, which aim to support UK universities by helping them to adapt a whole institution approach for sustainability.
