Creating Low Carbon Campuses

27th Jul 2023 10:00 – 16:00

Salix Finance is proud to be hosting its first ever face-to-face event of its kind “Creating Low Carbon Campuses” aimed at those working within universities and colleges.

This two-part series event will bring speakers from across the education sector to share ideas, successes and challenges, building a network of learning on the pathway to reaching net zero.

The first of the two part series will be held on Thursday 27 July at Northumbria University, followed by a further event on Wednesday 2 August at Greenwich University.

These events are free to attend and will provide delegates with an opportunity to meet Salix relationship managers, discuss low-carbon initiatives that have been introduced and will provide a space for peer-to-peer learning, and advice that aims to facilitate knowledge sharing between higher and further education clients of Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) funding.

Benefits of attending
  • Hear direct from the experts about funding opportunities for higher and further education decarbonisation projects
  • Learn about best practice in delivering a public sector decarbonisation scheme project
  • Hear from universities and colleges who have successfully delivered projects
  • Top tips and overcoming challenges
  • Share knowledge across the sector on reaching Net Zero for your campuses
  • Networking opportunities
  • Advice from our technical team on applying for the next round of funding

Who should attend
Delegates who will have an interest in this event will be people who work in further and higher education.*

*This conference is open to public sector organisations only.

Hayley Bristow, programme manager, said: "Universities and Colleges play a vital role in leading the UK’s journey to net zero. We are excited to be hosting our first event with the sector to celebrate our successes so far, discuss how we can overcome the challenges still to come in creating low carbon campuses, and explain how Salix can offer support with projects. This important work will shape the futures of students across the country and set an exemplar for others.”

To ensure that the experience is accessible to individuals, we will be hosting the event in the north and south of England, with places limited to two per public sector organisation.
