This report was launched on the 16th of January 2017 in Davos by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the World Economic Forum. If implemented it would see 70% of plastic packaging reused and recycled globally, up from today’s recycling rate of 14%.
To encourage action, the report contributes in by setting out three distinct transition strategies for three packaging categories, a set of priority actions for each category, mobilising the strategies and setting a common direction for players across the global plastics packaging value chain and a targeted plan for the New Plastics Economy initiative to carry out in 2017 to catalyse progress on the priority actions.
