The EAUC-Scotland 2018 Conference, A Decade of Progress, celebrated successes from the decade past, and visioned the decade ahead, to coincide with the EAUC-Scotland office’s 10 year anniversary.
Collaboration is key for sustainability progress. To showcase good examples of collaboration we invited sector members to put themselves forward to briefly share the story of a successful partnership between their institution and a private or third sector organisations which has driven forward sustainability progress, in a joint presentation with the partner organisation on the day. The Partnerships were:
Bright Green Business's Environmental Placement Programme with Edinburgh College
British Heart Foundation's Pack for Good Campaign with Heriot-Watt University
Green Rewards' JUMP Programme with University of Strathclyde
Cycling Solutions and University of St Andrews first began their partnership when meeting at the EAUC-Scotland 2015 conference. Cycling solutions assisted with tackling issues preventing a bike to work scheme being available at the institution. They have further helped the institutions sustainable travel progress by engaging new audiences such as new, beginner and occasional cyclists. There are now increased numbers cycling to work on a regular basis and the organisation has helped the University meet sustainability targets for reducing car use. They are actively engaged in university-wide events.
The joint presentation is available to download from the right of the page.
