This LGM project led by Bournemouth University aims to promote leadership support for sustainable development.
It will build capacity in two distinctly different higher education institutions (HEIs) (Bournemouth University and the University of Sussex) by working with Board Members and senior management teams and then cascading the lessons learned to two other HEIs.
It will run workshops on the sustainable development agenda with a specific focus on leadership behaviours to embed sustainable development and to achieve targets for carbon reduction.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
increase knowledge of sustainable development
explore the breadth of concerns
identify appropriate leadership behaviours that will support culture change and approaches to secure the commitment of the wider staff base.
The project, which is funded under the Leading Sustainable Development in HE initiative, will run from September 2010 to September 2012.
