Delivering major energy and carbon saving improvements in an NHS partnership

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole (NLaG) are always looking for ways to provide a world-class estate whilst delivering healthcare in a more sustainable way. With rising energy costs and a desire to achieve an ambitious 25% reduction in carbon emissions by 2016, NLaG was operating in a challenging environment with:

• Challenging Cost Improvement Plan targets set
• Limited access to capital funds
• Some ageing energy-related infrastructure
• A need to engage staff with energy and carbon reduction initiatives
• A need for resource to address the above

To address these issues NLaG and British Gas formed a strategic partnership that would help unlock the significant benefits associated with guaranteed energy and carbon reduction through an Energy Performance Contract (EPC).
