Contractor waste for Estates Management Record reporting - Jan 2016 Member Responses

Pearl Costello, Environmental Officer, Royal Agricultural University emailed the Members network to ask,

“I’m just finalising our HESA EMR return for the year and am struggling to capture all our data for the ‘Other works waste’ section.

The guidance states that we should report all waste: “…including construction waste produced by contractors.”

We have waste data for all our construction projects, but not for a number of more day to day jobs. For example painters who take empty paint tins away, parts which go back after servicing, items sent back to suppliers for recycling. Do other people include this type of waste in the return, and if so how do you manage this?"
