The Brief
The University of Essex has an ambitious target of reducing its carbon emissions by 43 per cent by 2020 on 2005 levels. Integral to the University reaching this goal are the sustainability engagement programmes - Green Impact and Student Switch Off. Having had three teams successfully complete Green Impact in its pilot year, I was brought in to expand and develop the programme by engaging departments and services. At the same time I was given the task of coordinating Student Switch Off and catalysing further sustainability initiatives and campaigns.
