The session included a look at why it’s not all about the honey – the foraging and nesting requirements of different bee species. It considered why bare earth is brilliant and ‘edge’ is important for insects and which nest box is suitable for. It gave delegates a better understanding of the habitat requirements of some of their campus wildlife, as well as providing some effective - and, in many cases, low-cost measures they can implement on their own campuses.
