2021 Benefitting Society - Institut Polytechnique UniLaSalle - France
Tiny, black, fluffy, with floppy ears, a big tail and big melting eyes, this is the first class of six flat coat Retriever puppies. Rosie, Rolly, Riddick, Rainbow, Rune and Réglisse, wearing their blue and yellow uniform, are the new students at UniLaSalle Beauvais They will study here for 10 months with their three employees and three student foster families to get ready for their future job, being guide dogs for the blind. It is in this context that the Guide Babine project has been created. We wanted to have a project with students to create a link and break down the “adult-student” gap.
Because of its Lasallian values, UniLaSalle attaches great importance to the issue of disability and inclusion. For 10 years, this has been reflected in the presence of a disability statement which has 4 essential missions: To support students with disabilities throughout their academic career; Advocate at national level for inclusive access to higher education; Raise awareness of disability issues within the educational and student communities and establish partnerships between the school and local associations dedicated to disability support to create social and professional links.
